Morgan
Johnson's poetry is often included with the presentation of his paintings. These two
media, writing and painting, lend a verbal and visual message focusing on the idea that
inspired the work(s). The viewer is invited, then, to garner his personal components that
make up the more general common human experience of a specific idea, a "thing"
that has no innate substance (other than electrical brain activity). To this end, the two
presented side by side capture a 'poetic moment', and hopefully treat the viewer to a
special, perhaps beautiful, instance of the human condition.
