Contemplation poem

The ermine sigh of a drifting breeze
climbs up from my feet outstretched
to catch the first cool breath
of promise that true night brings.

Now I can sleep as the crickets
grasp its attention and throw out
summer in their careful sound,
a call to a mate or challenge to a foe.

Taken to contemplation is the magic
that nature weaves to remind us,
cricket or naked man on his blanketless bed,
that simple is as much as gold..

As with snowflakes, fingerprints and loves,
no two sunsets recall the same.
